Paying for all seven tools below costs $103.98 a month on the cheapest plan each one lists, one seat each. That's $1,247.76 a year. Every swap is free and has over 13,000 stars on GitHub (counted 29 Oct 2026).
The catch: "free" sometimes means you run it on your own server. Four of the seven have a free hosted plan, so you just sign up. They're marked No server needed.
1. 1Password ($2.99/mo) → Bitwarden
No server needed. Bitwarden's free plan stores unlimited passwords on unlimited devices.

3. Zapier ($19.99/mo) → n8n
Self-host. The self-hosted version is free. n8n's own cloud starts at €20/mo. Its licence is "fair-code", not open source: free for your own business's internal use or personal use.

4. Intercom ($19/seat) → Chatwoot
No server needed. Live chat and email support in one inbox. The free cloud plan covers 500 conversations a month.

5. HubSpot Starter ($7/seat) → Twenty

How to use this
Start with the four that need no server: Bitwarden, Penpot, Chatwoot, Documenso. Sign up, import, cancel the paid one.
For n8n, Twenty and Formbricks you need a small server (a VPS) and an afternoon. If that's not you, skip them for now.
Check your own plan before you cancel. These are the lowest prices each vendor shows, one seat each, so if you pay monthly or for a team you're paying more.
