You saw the reel. A roofing company running on paper quotes, WhatsApp messages and memory — replaced with one live app, built from a single prompt, deployed to a real URL the team opens on their phones.

This is the exact prompt I pasted. Not a cleaned-up version. The actual one.

The prompt

Copy the whole thing, paste it into Emergent's build box, hit Build. That's genuinely it.

Build a mobile-friendly job management web app for a roofing company, deployed
to a live URL that the team can open and run from their phones.

Core feature — a single job board (kanban style) with four stages, in this
order: Quote → Booked → Done → Paid. Jobs move left to right across the board;
I can drag a job between stages, or open it and change its stage.

Each job card has these fields:
- Customer name
- Address
- Job type (e.g. new roof, repair, gutter, flat roof)
- Price (£)
- Phone number (mobile, for texting the customer)

I can add a new job, edit any job, and delete a job. The board shows all jobs
grouped under their stage with a running total of the value in each stage.

Automation — when a job is moved into the "Done" stage, the app automatically
sends that customer an SMS text asking them to leave a Google review. The
message reads:
"Hi {customer name}, thanks for choosing us for your roofing work! We'd love a
quick Google review — it really helps: {REVIEW_LINK}. Cheers, the team."
Use {REVIEW_LINK} as a placeholder I can set in settings, and use a placeholder
SMS integration (Twilio-style) so the send is wired and visible even before I
add real keys. Log every sent review-request on the job card (date + status) so
I can see it fired.

Design: clean, simple, big touch targets, works great on a phone screen. No
login needed for v1 — just the board. Deploy it live and give me the URL.

The 3 steps

  1. Sign up free at Emergent. The free tier gives you 10 credits a month — enough to build this. No card.

  2. Paste the prompt into the build box. Don't tweak it on your first run — see what one shot gets you.

  3. Hit Build and wait. It plans, writes the code, wires the automation, and deploys to a live URL. Open that URL on your phone. That's the whole app.

What you'll actually get

The build in the reel produced, from that one prompt:

  • A kanban job board — Quote → Booked → Done → Paid — with a running £ total per stage

  • Add / edit / delete jobs with name, address, job type, price, phone

  • The automation: drag a job to Done and it fires a Google-review text to the customer, logged on the job card

  • A live URL that works on a phone — real app, not a mockup

Custom software like this used to mean a dev quote and a long wait. This was an afternoon, most of which was me watching it build.

Make it yours

The prompt is a template. Swap the trade and the fields and it builds YOUR version:

  • Plumber? Change the job types to boiler / leak / bathroom.

  • Cleaner? Stages become Enquiry → Booked → Cleaned → Paid.

  • Any service business: keep the review-text automation — that one feature quietly builds your Google presence every time you finish a job.

Start in Emergent's prompt library if you'd rather not write from scratch — grab the closest template, tweak it like I did, hit Build.

Try it now: app.emergent.sh — free, 10 credits, no card. Paste the prompt, hit Build, and reply to this email with your live URL — I read every one.

Transparency: Emergent sponsored the reel and that's my partner link. I built the app on screen myself — everything above is what actually happened.
