Anthropic just moved AI from "helps you work" to "does the work."
At their Code with Claude event they shipped agents that finish multi-step jobs on their own. Multi-agent orchestration. Ten pre-built finance agents. Agents that
run inside your own systems. Opus 4.8 now holds a million tokens, so it keeps a whole project in memory at once. OpenAI answered days later with GPT-5.5.
why it matters for your money: the gap between "AI helps me" and "AI does the job" just closed. Last year you
used AI to draft. Now you hand it the whole task. That's the jump from saving ten minutes to replacing a job you pay for.
how to use it this week: pick your single most repetitive money task. Invoice chasing. Lead research. Build one agent
for that one task. Not ten. One. Get it working, then move on.

Before you chase any of this, run it through the filter I use on everything.
1. what's the cash mechanism?
One sentence: how does it make money, cut cost, or protect margin? Stuck? It doesn't.
2. who pays for the output?
A job title and a problem they'll pay to fix. "Businesses" is not an answer.
3. can you test it in 48 hours?
Test it, not build it. On real people. If you can't, it's a hobby.
Three clear answers or you skip it. This has saved me weeks of building things nobody wanted.
