“Comment SEO and I'll send you the whole setup.” Here it is.
Claude SEO is here. The plugin is free and open source. You run it in Claude Code, which may have its own usage cost.
1. Run the audit
Paste these lines into Claude Code, one at a time:
/plugin marketplace add AgriciDaniel/claude-seo
/plugin install claude-seo@agricidaniel-claude-seo
/seo setup
/seo doctor
/seo audit https://yoursite.comReplace yoursite.com with your site. Setup installs the plugin's Python environment and browser; doctor checks that they are ready. The audit gives you technical and content issues. Read each finding before changing your site.
2. Make your AI gap list
Open Search Console's Generative AI report. Choose your site and a date range. In Pages, export the table. It counts impressions for links to your site in Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode.
In the usual Search results Performance report, export Pages for the same dates. Match the two exports by page URL. Start with pages that have ordinary Google impressions but no AI impressions in the AI export. That's your AI gap list: a shortlist to investigate, not proof that a page is broken. Not every search shows an AI answer. Check canonical URLs when matching rows.
If the AI report is missing, Google says the property may lack enough AI impressions or access. The report gives impressions, not AI clicks or the queries that triggered them. Search Console's table exports are limited to 1,000 rows.
3. Check what ChatGPT can see
Ask ChatGPT Search five questions a customer would actually ask. Note which sites it cites. If yours is absent, check https://yoursite.com/robots.txt for an OAI-SearchBot block. OpenAI says blocking that crawler keeps a site out of ChatGPT search answers, although it may still appear as a navigational link. GPTBot is a separate training crawler.
4. Get your top five fixes
Attach your /seo audit, both Search Console page exports, and your ChatGPT notes to Claude Code. Paste this:
Here is my /seo audit, my Search Console Search results Pages export, my Generative AI Pages export, and five customer questions I checked in ChatGPT Search.
Match pages by canonical URL. Rank the five fixes with the best balance of likely impact and effort. For each one, give me the page, the exact change, why it matters, how to check it worked in Search Console, and any uncertainty. Flag pages that may be blocked, not indexed, or ineligible for a snippet. Do not treat zero AI impressions alone as proof of a technical fault. Do not recommend llms.txt or FAQ schema as a Google ranking shortcut.Make one change, note the date, and recheck the same page after four weeks. Google says a page must be indexed and eligible for a snippet to appear in its AI features, but meeting those conditions does not guarantee inclusion. Its guidance is here.
In Pew's study of 68,879 Google searches, people clicked a traditional result on 8% of visits with an AI summary, versus 15% without one. That's an observed difference, not a traffic forecast for your site.
Reply and tell me what turned up on your gap list.
