MCP Infrastructure · No. 09

Your Claude setup
is an island.
Here's the bridge.

The 5 MCP servers I run every day, the config to connect them, and exactly how to set it up. Step by step.

You have Claude Pro. Maybe even Max. You're paying for the most capable AI on the planet.

But right now it's sitting in a browser tab. It can't see your Notion, your inbox, your calendar, your analytics. It has zero context about your actual business.

That's not Claude's fault. It's the wiring. You haven't connected anything.

MCP fixes that in about 15 minutes.

What MCP actually is

Model Context Protocol. It's an open standard that lets Claude connect to outside tools through a consistent interface. Think of it as USB for AI. One protocol, any tool.

When you connect an MCP server, Claude can read from and write to the tool it connects to. Not through copy-paste. Not through prompts. Through a live, two-way connection.

What changes

Claude goes from "write me an email about X" to "check my inbox, flag what matters, draft replies to the three that need me, and add the action items to my Notion board." One prompt. Five tools working together.

What you need

1
Claude Pro or Max subscription MCP connectors are available on paid plans at claude.ai
2
Accounts on the tools you want to connect Google (Gmail, Calendar, Drive), Notion, etc. You'll authorize each one.
3
15 minutes That's it. Each server takes about 3 minutes to connect.

5 MCP servers I run for my business

These are the exact servers connected to my Claude right now. Each one unlocks a layer of context Claude couldn't access before.

SERVER 01
Google Drive

Claude can search, read, and create files in your Drive. Pull brand docs, content briefs, past work. No more pasting 20-page documents into the chat window.

Connector: Google Drive (built-in at claude.ai)
SERVER 02
Gmail

Read your inbox. Search threads. Draft replies. Claude sees the full email context, flags what needs you, and handles the rest. 3 emails land on your plate instead of 30.

Connector: Gmail (built-in at claude.ai)
SERVER 03
Google Calendar

Check your schedule. Create events. Find free time across calendars. Before every call, Claude pulls the event details and preps you with context from past conversations.

Connector: Google Calendar (built-in at claude.ai)
SERVER 04
Notion

Read and write to your Notion workspace. Claude can check project boards, add tasks, pull meeting notes, and push content briefs directly into your system.

Connector: Notion (built-in at claude.ai)
SERVER 05
Canva

Design assets, social posts, and presentations through Claude. Create branded content without switching tools. Claude generates and Canva executes.

Connector: Canva (built-in at claude.ai)

How to connect them

All five are built-in connectors at claude.ai. No API keys. No terminal commands. No code.

1
Open claude.ai and go to Settings Click your profile icon (bottom left) then "Settings"
2
Find "Connectors" or "Integrations" You'll see a list of available MCP servers you can connect
3
Click "Connect" on each server Authorize with your Google/Notion/Canva account. One click per tool.
4
Start a new chat and ask Claude to use them Try: "Check my inbox and summarize anything urgent" or "What's on my calendar this week?"
Pro tip

Create a Claude Project for your business. Add instructions like "Always check my calendar before suggesting meeting times" and "Pull from my Drive brand doc before writing any content." Now every conversation starts with full context.

What actually changes

Before MCP, every Claude conversation starts from zero. You paste context, explain your business, repeat yourself. It's a chatbot.

After MCP, Claude already knows. It can see your inbox, your calendar, your projects, your files. It doesn't guess what you need. It checks.

That's the difference between using Claude and running your business on Claude.
